Ubuntu 12.04 Alternate Install for IBM PowerPC

Super-fast, easy to use and free, the Ubuntu operating system powers millions of desktops, netbooks and servers around the world. Ubuntu does everything you need it to. It'll work with your existing PC files, printers, cameras and MP3 players. And it comes with thousands of free apps.

The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. It provides for the following situations:
setting up automated deployments,
upgrading from older installations without network access,
LVM and/or RAID partitioning,
installs on systems with less than about 384MiB of RAM (although note that low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably).

Ubuntu being an open source initiative is bound to be a constantly changing environment. There have been around 14 releases of Ubuntu so far and the 15th is all set to roll out in October of 2011. The upcoming entrant nicknamed the Oneiric Ocelot has been reviewed and previewed by many Linux geeks and has been found to be very efficient.

All its Alpha and Beta releases have ensured the fixing of majority of the bugs arising during user testing. We expect the final version to be released soon to incorporate a new look and feel in the Ubuntu Line-Up.
